2007 Press Release - 5th DoDuds Apparel Drive

Embroidery Network Foundation

Mission Statement:
The Embroidery Network Foundation (ENF), a 501(c)(3) entity, established by the National Network of Embroidery Professionals, is designed to provide a channel for the commercial embroidery industry to respond to persons in need. The focus of the Embroidery Network Foundation is the collection of and distribution of new clothing to women’s shelters and responding to those in need when they are faced with national or natural disasters.

Contributions:
* Clothing Donations - The commercial embroidery industry represents a resource of new clothing, such as samples, mis-marked inventory and over-runs, which can be donated to those in need.

* Embroidery Supplies and Equipment - Through the ENF, embroiderers can contribute embroidery supplies and equipment to assist fellow shop owners who have experienced unforeseen damage in a disaster.

* Financial Donations – are fundamental to meeting the goals of the ENF. They allow the Foundation to reach beyond the existing supply of donated new clothing to meet the specific needs of a shelter, family, school or other entity needing help. Proceeds from the sale of the Hooper Collectible Figurines also expand the endeavors of the Foundation.

Management:
A volunteer Board and staff administer the ENF. Therefore one hundred percent of all financial contributions go toward meeting the goals of the ENF. All clothing is inventoried upon receipt and upon disbursement. All persons contributing to the ENF are mailed an acknowledgement of their donation.

Disaster Relief Contributions to Date:
Oct 2005 - 3 boxes of new apparel went to families of school children in LA
Oct 2005 - 13 boxes of new apparel, jackets went to families of school children in LA
Response from the school adminstrator:
The happy tears that came from the students and the families were very emotional for all of us. We sincerely appreciate all the boxes that we received last week. We were able to start distributing the clothes on Thursday. I did not realize how many families were in need until so many people showed up. Some of the families brought pictures of where their homes use to be and there was nothing left but the foundation. I ended up coming home Thursday night myself and cleared all my closets of clothes that I could do without so I can give them away next week. I am putting together some pictures for everyone to be able to see online of the devastation of the school and the area. I will send you a link as soon as I have time to put them together.
Thanks again so much for your help and your prayers.

ENF Disaster Relief Program

The newly formed Embroidery Network Foundation is establishing a disaster relief program. Many families and companies within the embroidery industry are currently faced with rebuilding their lives in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. For example, we believe there are at least 8 members of the National Network of Embroidery Professionals that are dealing with the total loss of their homes and businesses.

Donations of cash, new apparel and/or embroidery suppliers are greatly appreciated. You can select to have your donation go to a specific program or to be used as needed. You will receive an acknowledgement of your contribution from the Embroidery Network Foundation. Thank you for your support and generosity.
